AniCura is a family of well-known animal hospitals and clinics specializing in veterinary care for companion animals. AniCura provides modern, high-quality veterinary care for pets at circa 500 practices in 17 European countries and creates peace of mind for pet owners through excellent access and patient safety. Every year, AniCura’s 12,000 passionate veterinary professionals attend to four million companion animal patients. Job purpose:

We are searching for a Marketing Director who will be the driving force behind AniCura’s brand growth, leveraging data, technology, and creativity to engage pet owners, enhance customer experience, and strengthen our market position.
As a key strategic partner to the President and Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AniCura’s marketing, ensuring we continue to evolve and lead in a competitive landscape.
Your mission? To build a strong, trusted, and recognizable brand, create seamless customer journeys, and foster long-term relationships with pet owners and veterinary professionals.

Languages: Proficiency in English and any other European language is a plus.

Member of AniCura Leadership Team.
Direct reports: 2 direct reports AniCura Marketing team, plus dotted line Market Marketing Heads.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with AniCura’s business objectives. Identify new market opportunities, analyze customer insights, and leverage competitive intelligence to drive brand positioning and business expansion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate branding, customer segmentation, campaigns, product offerings, and customer experience initiatives.
Research & Insights: Optimize and leverage CRM systems to enhance customer engagement and retention. Use advanced analytics to improve targeting, segmentation, and loyalty programs, ensuring customer-centric strategies that drive growth and long-term value.
Funnel Optimization & Customer Journey Mapping: Oversee the entire customer journey, from awareness to loyalty, ensuring a seamless experience across digital and physical touchpoints. Enhance brand visibility, refine the consideration phase, and drive conversion by improving online interactions, appointment booking processes, and in-clinic experiences.
Digital & Performance Marketing:
Lead a cutting-edge digital marketing strategy across SEO, SEM, social media, email, and other digital channels. Oversee UX and brand design to ensure a unified and engaging customer experience. Leverage data-driven insights to enhance personalization, optimize media spend, and improve conversion rates. Stay ahead of digital trends to maintain AniCura’s competitive edge.
Brand Development & Thought Leadership: Strengthen AniCura’s brand identity and market presence. Develop compelling storytelling, content marketing, and PR strategies that reinforce AniCura’s reputation as a trusted provider of veterinary care. Ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice across all markets.
Leadership & Culture: Build and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and customer-centric culture. Lead, mentor, and support team members, driving performance excellence and professional growth. Manage external partnerships with agencies and vendors to enhance marketing capabilities.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and clinical teams, to align marketing efforts with business goals. Foster strong relationships within the AniCura network and across the broader Mars Veterinary Health ecosystem.
Education and professional qualifications:
University degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Leadership: Skilled at motivating teams, managing performance, and building a culture of continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking for:
15+ years of experience in Marketing, including 5+ years in a Senior Leadership role (Board/Leadership Team level preferred).
Proven expertise in brand development, digital marketing, customer experience, and analytics-driven decision-making.
Strong leadership skills – ability to build and develop teams in a matrix organization
Excellent strategic thinking and execution abilities with a focus on growth, performance, and innovation.
Experience managing budgets and media spend optimization.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English (additional European languages a plus)
