We’re looking for a Social Media & Influencer Director to join our McCann Worldgroup Nordic team based in Stockholm.

This role focuses on strategic and business leadership. You’ll manage one of our global clients in the product design and technology sector across the Nordic countries. Your primary responsibilities will include leading a talented team, delivering innovative social media and influencer strategies, driving the client’s business objectives, and fostering strong relationships.

From concept to execution, you'll oversee the seamless delivery of social media and influencer marketing campaigns, managing everything from strategy and talent coordination to detailed analysis and reporting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Collaborating with our Social & Influencer Manager and the wider team to execute and enhance a best-in-class social media and influencer marketing service offering, including insights/analytics, social trends, tools, platforms, campaign activations, and measurement.
- Acting as a key liaison, leading negotiations, and managing contract execution on behalf of clients to procure the appropriate influencers and ensure optimal ROI for campaigns.
- Executing effective social media & influencer strategies across various platforms while staying ahead of industry trends, algorithm changes, and new features that could impact client strategies.
- Leading by example, providing support and mentorship to junior team members, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. This includes managing upwards to the senior team as required, overseeing the formal client review process, and taking responsibility for the internal “Wash Up” process at the end of each project.
- Staying informed about current projects in development and collaborating with the wider team to brainstorm and create new opportunities for clients.
- Maintaining a complete understanding of the client’s business, needs, and objectives—what they do and what they want to achieve—while taking ownership and accountability for projects.
- Taking ownership of effective account planning and ensuring resources are aligned to meet client demands.
- Ensuring accurate project budgets, in conjunction with senior management when required, and overseeing finances and influencer payments.
- Drafting, negotiating, and executing robust influencer agreements, ensuring templates remain up to date in the evolving industry landscape. Leveraging an existing network of contacts and industry knowledge to build and accelerate opportunities.
- Performing competitive analysis, industry research, and assessments of best practices and KPIs in a constantly changing landscape.

Qualifications and Skills

- 6+ years of experience in a similar role, with deep expertise in social media and influencer strategies. You bring a proven track record in strategic and business leadership.
- Applicants must be fluent in Swedish, Norwegian or Danish and have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Best-in-class activation and project management skills.
- Practical, hands-on experience in all fundamental areas of social, including strategy, content creation, community management, paid social, reporting, and client management.
- Significant experience devising social and influencer strategies and working with platforms such as Facebook Business Manager, Twitter Ads, Pinterest Ads, Snap Ads, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
- Expertise in social media trends, creative best practices, influencer marketing, paid social, and performance analytics.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team while managing accounts with significant budgets.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A solid understanding of new business and experience collaborating on pitches.
- Confidence in public speaking, ‘owning the room,’ and delivering excellent presentations.
