Scania has embarked on a transformation of the transportation industry and made it it's mission to "drive the shift" towards a sustainable transport system. The "shift" is enabled by a combination of new technologies, new service-centric business models and developing perspectives on what it means to be the future partner of choice to our customers.
Since the original inception of Scania Finans AB (SFA) in 1947, Scania financial services quickly grew to become an essential part of the Scania Group core offering, supporting up to 50% of new vehicle sales. While the financial services business has since been legally transferred to TRATON, our contribution to the success of the Scania Group continues to grow as financial services will be a key contributor and facilitator in turning the Scania "shift" vision into reality.
The Role
In order to meet a broadening scope of business, a growing business complexity and expanding requirements of our business at Scania Finans AB (SFA), we are looking to organize our business control function as a Business Control department under the leadership of a Manager Business Control. The Manager Business Control will lead the function, guide the development our team of Business Controllers and be responsible for the full range of business controlling aspects of our business across Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and the Baltics.
A key mission of the Manager Business Control role is to evolve the function beyond its current primary focus on financial reporting, analysis and presentation of past performance, and develop a stronger complementary focus aimed at more proactively influence and shape future performance of Scania Finans AB.
In addition to the traditional elements of business control management, the role on hand also offers an exciting mix of different stakeholder interfaces. Apart from various SFA-internal departments and associated parent Scania/TRATON Financial Services stakeholders, the role will also entail nurturing dialogues and collaboration with fellow professionals in the Scania Commercial Operations organization in our geographic markets. Nowadays, Scania Finans AB is supporting Scania business not only by offering financing solutions to Scania end-customers, but increasingly also by providing valuable financial services to Scania Commercial Operations through new initiatives such as Rental and in short also Factoring across different business lines.

The role is based in Södertälje and reports to the CFO.
Main responsibilities
- manage the business control function with a clear business focus and business value add mindset
- lead, support and develop a diverse group of business controllers with different profiles, areas of responsibilities and levels of experience
- quality assure business control processes and drive improvement initiatives to increase function efficiency and resiliency
- develop the financial model, reporting standards for new segments and the business control department overall to meet evolving governance requirements
- collaborate with fellow professionals at Scania Financial Services, TRATON Financial Services, Scania Commercial Operations and Scania Group reporting and control
- represent business control agenda in various fora and cross-functional initiatives
- advance our digitalization agenda and further automation in business control processes with aim to increase efficiency and release time for higher value add activities
Your profile
For the position on hand, we are ideally looking for a candidate combining the following qualities:
- comprehensive professional experience of accounting, business reporting and controlling at a financial services or industrial company
- ability to juggle daily operating and strategic perspectives of business control
- readiness to both lead the team of business controllers, while in parallel also assume an operating responsibility within the team (i.e. the role is highly operational in nature).
- ability to represent, contribute with and confidently defend the business control perspective and agenda in various fora
- strong sense of ownership, accountability to deliver on commitments and high degree of integrity
- comfortable operating in a changing and increasingly dynamic business context, and confident in dealing with ambiguities associated with continuous change
- structured, organized and collaborative personality, motivated to make a difference
- relevant experience from a similar role, including minimum 3 years of formal managerial experience
- experience of working in international context and relevant university degree
