Head of Civil Defense to Group

We seek a seasoned professional to lead SEB's newly established Civil Defense Function As part of our commitment to safeguarding the interests of our clients and ensuring operational continuity in all circumstances, we are looking for a proactive and strategic leader who can enhance our resilience against a range of contingencies.
About the job
As Head of Civil Defense function, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and resilience of our organization and ensuring compliance with national regulations on operational resilience and civil defense. Your responsibilities include establishing and building the Civil Defense function from the ground up, integrating it into the bank's overall risk management framework. Your leadership and strategic vision are essential for aligning civil defense strategies with the broader operational resilience strategies of SEB. This alignment is crucial for an effective response to emergencies, crises, and heightened states of alert.
Among other things you will work with:
Establish a strategic direction of the Civil Defense function and formulate and execute civil defense strategies that complement and reinforce the overarching operational resilience strategies, thereby strengthening SEB's preparedness and resilience.Ensure compliance with national regulations on civil defense.Manage the necessary budget, resources, and coordination for civil defense initiatives.Build effective partnerships across the organization, with authorities and external parties to plan and execute our civil defense measures.Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments and scenario planning.Continuously update and enhance civil defense practices based on evolving threats and regulatory guidelines.Participate in external and internal forums related to civil defense. Who are you? Proven experience in operational resilience, business continuity management, civil defense planning, or crisis management, preferably within the banking or financial sector.Education in civil defense, business continuity and crisis management, protective security or related fields is considered a strong asset.Experience in military defense is advantageous, but not mandatory.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.Analytical thinker with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills and you are fluent in Swedish and English.Broad understanding of banking processes, products, services, and an understanding of the regulatory landscape.A high-level comprehension of end-to-end transaction flows, IT, and IT infrastructure in banking, as well as an understanding of the financial market infrastructure is advantageous.Skilled in risk mitigation and adept at identifying and implementing effective solutions.Excellent relationship-building skills and collaborates effectively across the organization and with external partners.Prior experience in project and change management is beneficial.
