Ongoing is growing at an average rate of 20% a year. We are now 50 coworkers and sell for over 150 MSEK. The business is organized in two legal entities with one office in Johanneberg, Gothenburg. We are office-first.

About the position

One of the main success drivers for our operational performance is to hire talented people who want to take on a broad responsibility and be willing to take on a broad set of tasks. Almost all of our coworkers are engineers with a master's degree. We are now looking to broaden that competence.

Currently the responsibility of the financial function of the company is highly distributed across the company with the CEO being accountable for the overall financial performance, but other's taking on responsibility for other tasks such as purchasing, invoicing, administration etcetera. Running tasks such as bookkeeping and payroll is outsourced. Many tasks are digitalized and automated. 

Ongoing is aiming for an IPO at Nasdaq Stockholm in June of 2026. We have hired a CFO that will start in november 2025 and will be overall responsible for the financial team. The accountant needs to possess appropriate experience in terms of e.g. consolidation, accounting and reporting. Tasks includes preparation of consolidation, quarterly reports, internal reporting to management/board, annual reports, budget/forecasts and internal control, VAT and handling of tax returns, etc. 

Other tasks and responsibilities include invoicing administration, customer claims, supplier relationships, purchasing , insurance and facility management. Payroll management could be either insorced or stay outsourced. You will report directly to our CFO. 

About you

We think that you live in Gothenburg. You are willing to work in the office and take on a broad accountability and responsibility for the accounting and administration. Being a small company, we think that you should be humble and down-to-earth. You communicate effectively in both Swedish and English, in written as well as in spoken form.

Qualifications

You should be excited about working in an entrepreneurial-driven professional software company where curiosity, responsibility, and flexibility are important parts of future success. Master's Degree holders and Bachelor Degree holders are eligible. You are expected to have at least 2-5 years of relevant working experience. Full professional working proficiency in English and Swedish is required.

We expect you to be able to understand and being able to use modern tools for a fully digitalized efficient processes. We use Fortnox, Microsoft 365, Vanta, Zendesk among others and combine it with tools we have built ourselves.

While running fast, the company needs to step by step improve the structure. We step by step build and improve our processes to reduce risk and increasing efficiency while we scale. It is therefore an advantage if you have experience working in a regulated environment and have experience with consolidated financial statements, quarterly reporting and IFRS. It is meritorious that you have worked with ISO certifications. 

Most of the engineers at Ongoing have a master's degree from Chalmers equivalent technical university. The office is also located directly next to the Johanneberg campus. We require you to have a master's degree or bachelors degree from The School of Business, Economies of law at University of Gothenburg or similar.Terms
