About Fairlo
The story of Fairlo began when our founders, Jimmy and Shamon, saw first-hand how unfair and predatory lending practices can trap people in cycles of debt. Their mother had been misled by a large bank, and instead of being offered a lifeline, she was pushed further into financial difficulties. That injustice sparked something: to build a company that reimagines credit - rooted in transparency, flexibility, and respect. That company became Fairlo.
Where we are now
Since launching in 2018, Fairlo has helped tens of thousands of customers access responsible credit when life happens. With 40,000+ active users, a 4.7 Trustpilot rating from 4,200+ reviews, and an incredibly low churn rate, we're proving that transparency and flexibility is not only the right thing to do - it's a winning model.
We're a tight team of 35 people based in Stockholm, Crete, and the UK. Backed by some of Sweden's most experienced investors and driven by a culture that prizes kindness, courage, collaboration and common sense, we're very proud of what we've built so far.
The Fairlo group currently consists of the parent company Fairlo AB, a branch in Greece (Fairlo Tech Hub Ltd), two fully owned subsidiaries: Correctia AB in Sweden and Fairlo UK Ltd in the UK. We manage the group's accounting and payroll primarily in-house, ensuring close control and integration with our daily operations. To complement this, we work with external partners for specific needs: accounting and payroll services for our branch in Greece and payroll administration in the UK.
Where we're going
We're now entering the most exciting chapter in our journey so far: Fairlo is becoming a bank. In line with new legislation and our long-term vision, this step will allow us to drive innovation, scale responsibly, expand our offering, and create fair and transparent financial products that support our customers throughout every stage of their lives.
Becoming a bank means raising the bar across every part of our business - and finance is no exception. To succeed, we need robust accounting processes, flawless reporting, and rock-solid compliance. That's where you come in.
Are you our new Finance Manager?
We're looking for a hands-on, structured, and collaborative Finance Manager to join our finance team as we scale and prepare for the bank transition.
You will step in for our current Finance Manager during parental leave, and the role continues permanently beyond that period. As we grow and transition into a bank, the finance organisation will expand, and we expect to have room for two Finance Managers, each with a clear and complementary area of ownership. Over time, this may open opportunities to specialise or grow into a new title, depending on your strengths and how the organisation evolves.
You'll work closely with our Senior Finance Manager (group reporting, IFRS, controls and regulatory support) and our Head of Finance (overall financial management, reporting and governance). Together, you'll ensure that Fairlo maintains a strong financial foundation built on accuracy, transparency, and efficiency.
This is a great role for someone who loves being close to the numbers and finds satisfaction in keeping everything running smoothly - while also being a part of building something bigger: a modern bank founded on flexibility and transparency.
Some of the things you'll do:
- Manage the daily accounting operations of the entire Fairlo group. This includes coordination with an external accounting provider for our branch in Greece.
- Manage payments of the entire Fairlo group.
- Handle and be responsible for monthly account reconciliations and closings, with the support of the Senior Finance Manager when needed.
- Handle payroll in Sweden and Finland. Coordinate Greek and UK payroll with external partners in Greece and the UK.
- Support in preparation of annual reports and audits.
- Extract, structure and reconcile revenue and portfolio data from internal systems using Excel/Sheets.
- Ensure that accounting processes are carried out efficiently, accurately and according to established routines.
- Collaborate with the Senior Finance Manager and Head of Finance on improvements, internal controls and financial routines, and support with admin and ad-hoc tasks when needed.
- Work closely with the founders and the broader team in a down-to-earth, passionate organisation where culture, trust, and ownership mean everything.
Your team:
Senior Finance Manager:
responsible for group accounting, IFRS, monthly reconciliations and closings, annual reports, treasury support, regulatory inputs, and continuous improvements of accounting principles, systems and controls.
Head of Finance:
responsible for the overall financial management of the group, with focus on accounting quality, internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and liquidity strategy, regulatory coordination, and driving strategic finance initiatives and governance.
You'll be the operational backbone of the finance function - handling daily accounting operations, reconciliations, payroll, payments and administration, and ensuring the numbers are right from the ground up, forming the base on which group reporting, controls and strategic decisions rely. You'll own your area end-to-end while collaborating seamlessly across the team, contributing to a high-quality finance environment as we progress toward becoming a bank.
We believe that you have:
- At least 2 years of experience managing accounting independently and carrying out monthly reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of K3
- Experience in working with payroll in Sweden
- An academic degree in business/finance/accounting or an YH education within accounting
- Strong attention to detail, high quality standards and a structured approach
- A love for practical problem-solving and working close to the numbers
- Strong language skills in both Swedish and English (spoken and written)
- A collaborative mindset - you communicate clearly, enjoy working together with others, and actively contribute to a positive and supportive team culture
- Curiosity, openness and willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment
Nice if you also have experience from:
- Working in a regulated financial company, credit institute or fintech
- Working in Fortnox
- Working with annual reports and/or audits
- Working with IFRS
- Extracting and analysing data in Excel/Sheets
- Working with group accounting or consolidation
Joining Fairlo means:
- You get to be part of building a financial world you'd like to live in.
- Work hands-on with real impact and ownership
- A competitive salary
- Stock option program
- Health insurance
- Pension (ITP level)
- Health & wellness allowance
- 30 days vacation per year plus "klämdagar" off
- Possibility to use the Fairlo Cretan house for both work and vacation stay
- Possibility to bike leasing
- Hybrid working model with a top-location office in Stockholm
- Be part of a team that supports one another, has fun together, and thrives
Where you'll work:
Mainly in our Stockholm office, and you may travel to other Fairlo offices in the UK, Greece and soon other locations.
We believe in finding people with unique backgrounds and perspectives ready to change the world through their visions.
We hope we've piqued your interest. Apply, and take the first step toward helping make Fairlo an even greater place to be - and the most trusted financial partner out there, built on a culture of transparency, flexibility, and genuine care for people.
