Guy Carpenter is seeking candidates to join us as a Catastrophe Risk Management Analyst based in the Stockholm Office.
Role Description:
- You will assess and manage the impacts of hazards such as windstorm and flood on insurance companies' property damage and resulting financial losses using state-of-the-art analytical tools. You will work alongside our top-tier professionals, acting as an advisor to our Nordic clients on areas such as catastrophe risk management, climate change, and reinsurance decision making. You will collaborate closely with the wider broking and analytics teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with regular interaction across the Nordics, Europe, and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to collect, check, and process property exposure data.
- Run state-of-the-art analytical models and tools to help quantify catastrophe exposure and the range of potential insured losses from natural and man-made catastrophe perils.
- Review and interpret model outputs, highlight the main findings in plain language, and prepare clear, concise summaries and presentations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Research and summarize relevant industry and scientific literature to support analyses, improve your understanding of perils, and provide evidence for client recommendations.
What makes you stand out:
- Experience with preparing and presenting quantitative analyses to a variety of audiences.
- Experience with managing and structuring large datasets and/or geospatial data (Python, R, SQL, etc.).
- Specific knowledge or experience relevant for understanding catastrophe risk and modelling (e.g. climate change, windstorm, flood, engineering, statistical modelling of extremes).
- Experience in market-leading catastrophe models such as RMS, Verisk, RQE.
What we offer:
- Training and mentorship in catastrophe risk modelling and reinsurance at a global leader in reinsurance broking.
- Real responsibility for client projects where your analysis and recommendations will have impactful, commercial outcomes.
- International scale across the four operating companies of MMC (Marsh, Mercer, Oliver Wyman, and Guy Carpenter), providing a range of career opportunities, benefits, and rewards to enhance your personal and professional growth.
At Guy Carpenter, you can be your best. We work on challenges that matter with colleagues who help bring out our best.
