The Global Data & BI team is building a leading function to empower Odevo with data-driven insights. Our team is responsible for developing a global data warehouse, establishing data enablement practices, and delivering impactful insights solutions across the organisation.

About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will be a technical trailblazer within our Global Data & BI team. You will play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling our data infrastructure and data asset to support Odevo's growing data needs. You will be a champion for data engineering best practices, driving efficiency and scalability in our data pipelines and ensuring the delivery of high-quality data to power our business intelligence and analytics solutions.

In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders across our operating companies to understand their data needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams at Odevo - including Product - to ensure data solutions align with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design and evolution of Odevo's global data platform architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

• Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and technologies.

• Implement and enable data quality checks and validation rules within data pipelines.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other data engineers on the team.

• Champion data engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and documentation.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and advocate for their adoption within the team.

• Collaborate effectively with data analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver impactful solutions.

• Communicate technical concepts and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our data pipelines and infrastructure.

• Explore and recommend new technologies and approaches to enhance Odevo's data engineering capabilities.

Experience
:

• Proven experience (5+ years) in data engineering, with a strong track record of designing, building, and maintaining complex data pipelines.

• Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ELT/ETL processes.

• Expertise in cloud-based data platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure and related technologies (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Fabric, dbt).

• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or SQL for data manipulation and automation.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or ARM templates is a bonus.

• Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance best practices.
