Franchise Operations Lead Job Description
Reporting directly to the COO, the Operations Lead is responsible for spearheading all operational aspects of our brand's entry into a new market where we will be opening our first restaurants under a franchise model. This role is instrumental in driving excellence across people, customer satisfaction, sales and profitability metrics. The Director of Operations builds a strong operational foundation, fosters a culture of high performance and ensures the successful establishment and growth of our brand presence in the new market.
Key Responsibilities
* People Capability:
* Recruit, train and equip top-tier operators to deliver exceptional customer experiences that embody our brand values.
* Cultivate a robust bench of talented and developed managers to drive operational excellence across all levels of the organisation.
* Hold Area Coaches and Restaurant Managers accountable for achieving targets related to people, customer satisfaction, sales and profitability.
* Lead by example as a culture champion, embodying Taco Bell principles in all aspects of operations.
* Leverage the organisation's culture and people capability to fuel brand performance and drive business results.
* Take a resolution-oriented approach to Employee Relations (ER) activities, providing necessary assistance to managers and proactively addressing ER needs in the market.
* Brand Building:
* Implement strategic initiatives to support the successful entry of the brand into the new market and the opening of new restaurants.
* Drive activities focused on building brand awareness, loyalty and community engagement within the new market.
* Consistent Customer Experience:
* Provide leadership and guidance to each manager in the market to ensure consistent customer satisfaction and adherence to brand standards.
* Utilise customer feedback programmes to coach and improve execution at the restaurant level.
Responsibilities
* Train, coach and hold accountable Area Coaches and Restaurant Managers for executing the Taco Bell Operating System and delivering brand standards including food safety.
* Act with urgency to address any brand protection issues and ensure absolute compliance with local regulations relating to occupational safety health standards and company safety and security policies.
Sales and Profit Growth
* Partner with each Manager in the market to drive sales growth and exceed previous performance benchmarks.
* Provide training and operational support for marketing promotions to maximise their impact on sales.
* Coach Area Coaches on how to effectively teach Restaurant General Managers (RGMs) to use tools and processes to improve restaurant financial results.
* Lead efforts to achieve profit targets in every restaurant by optimising operational efficiency and cost management.
* Work closely with Area Coaches to identify opportunities for improving problem-solving and planning skills through hands-on demonstrations.
* Take ownership of resolving chronic Repair & Maintenance issues by collaborating with management and identifying trends for improvement.
Minimum Requirements
* Dynamic, energetic and positive leader with a proactive approach to driving business results.
* Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, team development, problem-solving, strong communication and time management.
* 10+ years of Restaurant or Retail Management experience with a track record of recruiting, developing and managing high-performing teams.
* Extensive Quick Service Restaurant or Retail experience with a proven ability to balance product quality with fast service times.
* Experience leading multiple managers across multiple high-volume units in an area.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with exceptional team-building capability.
* Fluent in English, both written and oral.
