In line with our vision to provide fossil freedom, we are looking to further strengthen our Customer Optimization team with two new colleagues to meet growing demands in a dynamic and rapidly changing market environment. We are seeking profiles with a solid foundation in analytics, combined with either expertise in modelling and algorithmic development or knowledge of IT architecture and infrastructure. Business Area Markets maximises the value of Vattenfall's portfolio by optimising and dispatching, hedging and sourcing for Vattenfall's assets and sales positions. We offer power purchase agreements to operators of wind or solar parks, optimise 3rd party batteries and enter into origination deals within the B2B segment. We serve as Vattenfall's single market access to energy commodity markets trading in electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates. We are responsible for generating profits by taking positions within defined risk mandates and limits. We are active across Europe with around 500 professionals working from Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, and Denmark.
Business Unit Assets main activities are hedging of Vattenfall's overall exposure, production planning, optimisation and dispatching of all power assets. We commercially maximise the value of Vattenfall and 3rd party assets delivering substantial impact on the bottom line of the Group.
About the position
You will be part of the Forecasting and Customer Optimization team, responsible for staffing shifts and managing demand forecasting for industrial customers and households across the Nordics. This includes delivering accurate forecasts of power demand. Based on these forecasts, you will also handle power sourcing and further optimization of portfolios for respective segments. Our team plays a key role in realizing Vattenfall's strategy to lead the transition to a sustainable energy system by enabling greater integration of renewable energy and supporting new investments in fossil-free power.
This role combines analytical work—such as data analysis and model and tool development—with scheduled operational tasks at our demand forecasting desk, where you will create Day-ahead bids and ancillary services bids for our Nordic customer portfolios. In addition, you will contribute to developing offerings for B2B and B2C segments, with a strong focus on flexibility services and the business infrastructure and tools that support these offerings.
This combined role offers an interesting and challenging position with varied tasks. You will work closely with Vattenfall's Customer & Solutions department and our operational Agile teams responsible for algorithm, model, and IT development. This means close collaboration with other parts of business area Markets and Customers & Solutions, managing key operational interfaces both within and outside Vattenfall.
QualificationsWe are looking for a person with:
- Relevant University degree and several years of relevant experience from energy markets.
- Programming, data analysis and/or IT infrastructure skills.
- Experienced in working in an international as well as in a regional and local environment.
- Strong command in Swedish and English, both verbally and written.
