As a Business Data Analyst at Houdini, you will play a key role in managing and enhancing our Power BI analytics platform. You will ensure that business data and processes flow seamlessly through our ERP system (Business Central), with a strong focus on efficiency and functionality. In this role, you will actively contribute to operational processes, deliver accurate data and reports to support strategic decision-making, and prepare materials for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Additionally, you will assist with monthly closing activities and provide support to other members of the Finance team.

This position requires a curious and proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to create structure and drive efficiency within your areas of responsibility.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Power BI:
    Develops and maintains reports in Power BI to support the business with relevant decision-making data. Acts as a requirements specifier for backend developers and Power BI consultants.
  • Data Processes in Business Central:
    Coordinates business-related flows in the system and ensures data quality to enable structure and efficiency.
  • Support and Guidance:
    Supports departments in Business Central regarding development and acts as a sounding board to achieve the best possible results.
  • Budgeting and Forecast:
    Responsible for preparing and compiling budgets for sales, margin calculations, and operational costs.
  • Analysis:
    Responsible for preparing materials for analysis related to sales, cash flows, margins, forecasts, inventory, and product allocation.
  • Monthly Closing:
    Participates and performs certain reconciliations and ensures that correct documentation is available for closing activities.
  • IT Responsibility:
    Manages IT accounts, computers, and accessories related to the business. Acts as a requirements specifier for the IT environment supplier.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Reviews and evaluates analysis results, ensures reasonableness and quality, and assesses the impact on business decisions.
  • Report Structure:
    Responsible for creating clear and structured reports where the purpose and analysis can be easily understood by the recipient.

Qualifications

  • Documented experience with Power BI and Business Central.
  • More than 3 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Strong system competence with an interest in working with data and processes in business systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, including the ability to train others.
  • Basic understanding of accounting.
  • Curious and engaged in exploring systems to find solutions and optimize functionality, always with a positive attitude.
  • Solution-oriented and logical with a humble and collaborative approach.
  • Structured and precise in completing and following up on tasks.
  • A team player who actively works to improve both themselves and the organization.
