We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to join our research team as a PhD student in Medical Science with a focus on Neurophysiology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project investigating the role of muscle spindles in sensorimotor control.
About the ProjectThe PhD project will involve a combination of in vivo human microneurography, robotic technologies, and custom-designed tools to investigate the nature and role of spindle afferent activity across sensorimotor contexts. A mammalian model will also be used to investigate brain mechanisms involved in fusimotor control.
EligibilityTo be eligible for this position, applicants must hold a university degree equivalent to a European University Master's degree or have completed course requirements of at least 240 credit points, of which at least 60 credit points should be at second-cycle level. Applicants must also be fluent in spoken and written English.
What We OfferThe PhD student will participate in activities provided by the Department of Medical and Translational Biology, involving interaction with researchers from different fields and access to various scientific and technical expertise. The person employed as a PhD student will primarily devote themselves to their own education, with the opportunity to train as a first-class researcher.
