PhD Research Position in Neurophysiology

Description of the PhD Project
Our research group has recently challenged the traditional understanding of proprioception and its role in movement coordination. The PhD project will involve investigating the impact of muscle pressure on human spindles and exploring the neural mechanisms underlying sensorimotor control. The candidate will work closely with our team to design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and communicate research findings.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as neuroscience, biostatistics, biomechanics, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and statistical software.
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python or R.
Working Conditions
The PhD researcher will work full-time at the Department of Medical and Translational Biology, Umeå University. The position is temporary for four years, starting from October 1st 2024 or as agreed. The salary will be according to the established salary scale for doctoral student employment.
