Position Overview

We are in search of a seasoned Mainframe Modernization Leader to spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing revenue within the realm of Mainframe transformation, including application modernization across a diverse array of markets.

As a pivotal figure in our organization, you will collaborate with account teams, solution architects, and strategic partners to ensure successful joint ventures. Your role will involve engaging in intricate sales processes and guiding deals to fruition while maintaining a customer-centric approach. This position presents a unique opportunity to be part of Kyndryl during a transformative phase in Mainframe technology, with pathways for career advancement into architecture, CTO roles, or leadership in delivery.

You will drive opportunities and assist partners in both existing accounts and new business ventures, providing profound technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Formulate and implement a pre-sales strategy to stimulate revenue growth in the Mainframe Modernization sector, including application management.
  • Offer technical insights and guidance to clients regarding Mainframe Modernization and transitions to cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of Mainframe architecture to identify and prioritize opportunities for application modernization.
  • Collaborate with account teams and strategic partners to maximize the utilization of our capabilities and services.
  • Cultivate relationships with senior executives and IT leaders, establishing referenceable clients.
  • Work closely with the sales team to discover and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to refine sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Over 10 years of substantial technical expertise in Mainframe transformation, IBMi modernization, and Application Management Services (AMS), along with architectural methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of cutting-edge technology solutions and strong architectural methodologies to influence clients and promote Kyndryl solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives, needs, and limitations, translating business and technical requirements into architectural designs that integrate distributed platforms with IBM Z.
  • Experience with IBMZ/IBMi application-oriented problem-solving and relevant development tools and system architecture.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, Agile, and Scrum methodologies to identify inefficiencies and develop strategies for optimizing IT or cloud resources.
  • Subject matter expertise in Mainframe systems, including System z and System i, as well as adjacent environments such as cloud computing.
  • Deep knowledge of Mainframe AMS business practices.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Certification in Mainframe technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships and complex sales cycles.
  • Background in a global organization with a diverse clientele and partnerships.
