About the Role

We're seeking an exceptional Lead UI Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a Lead UI Artist, you will lead and manage a small team of UI Artists and 2D artists, guiding them to create high-fidelity UI experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and align with the product's goals, usability, and accessibility standards and brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement visually stunning and highly intuitive UI designs that exceed player expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI, UX, Game Designers, Producers, Art Directors, Project Managers, and Software Engineering teams to drive project success.
  • Develop and maintain the Visual and UI Design Systems to ensure a consistent and immersive gaming experience.
  • Mentor and grow junior team members, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to continuously improve our UI design workflow processes.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing clear and concise feedback on designs and design processes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a UI Artist or UI Designer for games.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing excellent graphic design skills, including typography, layout, composition, iconography, color, and motion design.
  • Leadership experience with small teams (1-10 people).
  • High-level competence in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Figma.
  • Experience developing and applying style guides/design systems.
  • Good technical understanding and appreciation for smart ways to create flexible and scalable UI.
  • Prior experience working within a game engine to create and implement UI features.
