Lead Cost Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Cost Management Specialist on a lucrative long-term consultancy contract based in Northern Sweden.

Candidates must have eligibility to work in the EU.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Oversee cost management and estimation for major project areas, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Provide support to EPCM contractors and assist in resolving cost-related challenges.
  • Lead monthly meetings with EPCM contractors to review cost reports, cashflows, change management, and develop accurate cost forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including finance and accounting teams, to prepare detailed cost analysis and deliver timely, accurate cost forecasts.
  • Work closely with Area Managers on monthly cost review meetings and liaise with the cost team and finance department for internal reporting.
  • Assist the Head of Project Services in preparing and delivering presentations on project cost status to stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on project progress to identify potential risks, adverse trends, and opportunities, contributing to proactive project management.

**Qualifications:**

  • Around 10 years of experience in cost control for major industrial projects, preferably within an EPCM contracting environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of project delivery phases and activities, with expertise in cost management practices.
  • Proficiency in cost engineering, estimating, and planning based on AACE and PMI standards.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including coordination with engineering, procurement, construction, safety, quality, finance, planning, and document control teams.
  • Familiarity with cost control software and experience in analyzing cost-saving opportunities, with a focus on effective reporting.
  • Expertise in estimating techniques, including oversight of major project estimates.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork and stakeholder collaboration.
  • A proactive mindset to anticipate challenges and work effectively with EPCMs, third-party suppliers, and other stakeholders to address issues promptly.
