Electronics Quality Engineer with Focus on HVDC Systems

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Electronics Quality Engineer to join our international team, focusing on implementing a culture of excellence throughout the entire value chain. The role will involve increasing customer satisfaction and improving profitability in a sustainable way.

This position is crucial in ensuring our supply base grows at the same pace as the company's rapid expansion driven by the Green Transition. The quality assurance function is key to enabling growth, and you will play a vital role in making this happen.

You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders such as engineering, product owners, category managers, and production/site quality teams. Specifically, you will support the part of our organization working with the control and protection system, MACH. Together with your team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on high-quality HVDC solutions offered by Hitachi Energy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to qualify the supply base needed for HVDC's growth.
  • Oversee new supplier onboarding, ensuring a robust qualification process execution, while spreading quality awareness within the organization and with suppliers.
  • Manage non-conformities, supporting D1-D3 and driving D4-D8 with suppliers.
  • Analyze supplier quality performance, using relevant tools to identify areas of improvement. Develop and implement quality improvement plans with suppliers.
  • Plan, execute, and follow up surveillance audits (Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement).
  • Cultivate an improved quality mindset among suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify process improvements strengthening the supplier quality function.
  • Travel to suppliers for solving quality issues, quality process developments, and inspection of components and products.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree related to electronics or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in electronics and/or quality.
  • IPC-certification and Green Belt certification is desirable.
  • Experience in quality audit execution (certified quality auditor would be a plus).
  • Good knowledge or experience in manufacturing processes assessment.
  • Experience in product qualification processes (PPAP or equivalent).
  • Excellent English skills, written and verbally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated technical attitude and passion for quality.
