We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical UI Design Lead to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of user interface (UI) design for our next-generation game, Battlefield.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Technical UI Designers in the creation of high-quality UI design assets, ensuring consistency and alignment with the game's art direction and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX leads, production, tech leads, and game developers to deliver features that meet the game's design and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive UI component library, ensuring consistency and efficiency in UI design and development.
  • Conduct technical and design reviews, providing constructive feedback and guidance to team members to ensure high-quality design and technical solutions.
  • Identify and communicate technical dependencies, risks, and improvements, working closely with tech leads to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Develop and maintain a sustainable testing and automation strategy, ensuring seamless integration with our game development pipeline.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UI design and game development, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our design and development processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional game development experience, with a strong focus on UI design and implementation.
  • Proven experience leading a team of designers and developers, with a track record of delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of UI design principles, including typography, layout, motion, visual fidelity, input handling, localization, data binding, prototyping, and debugging.
  • Experience with game engines, such as Frostbite, and a strong understanding of technical constraints and limitations.
  • Passion for games, accessibility, and developing inclusive player experiences.
