As a Packaging Solution Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, documenting, and maintaining optimal packaging solutions for our products and solutions with a mid to long-term view. This involves close collaboration with designers, engineers, suppliers, and store co-workers to ensure that the solutions work seamlessly from the supplier to the customer.

Key Tasks
  • Develop next-generation packaging solutions for multichannel to meet demands on form, function, cost, quality, and sustainability.
  • Build a catalogue of solutions to be used in product development and documentation.
  • Keep the documentation up to date and according to IKEA standards.
  • Ensure that the packaging solution meets all legal requirements.
  • Explore new materials and solutions for packaging and discover ways to improve costs, reliability, and sustainability in packaging.
  • Improve our working methods for virtual development of packaging solutions.
Requirements

In this role, you need to have analytical and creative skills and the ability to transfer knowledge, concepts, and ideas into packaging solutions. You should also have effective communication ability, work in a proactive way, and make things happen through involving and engaging people.

We are looking for someone with knowledge in packaging construction in terms of drawing technique, technical solutions, and design for manufacturing. You should have experience of working in 3D tools, preferably SolidWorks & Artios CAD. Furthermore, you should have knowledge of packaging requirements and global packaging test methods and standards. You should have a theoretical and practical knowledge about packaging and its impact in the value chain, from raw material to the co-worker and customer perspective.
