We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Solution Engineer to join our Product Development Platform Storage team at Inter IKEA Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing, documenting, improving, and maintaining optimal packaging solutions for our products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop next-generation packaging solutions that meet demands on form, function, cost, quality, and sustainability, ensuring they work seamlessly through the total value chain and product lifecycle.
- Build a comprehensive catalogue of solutions for use in product development and documentation.
- Ensure packaging solutions meet all legal requirements and maintain accurate documentation according to IKEA standards.
- Explore new materials and solutions for packaging, identifying ways to improve costs, reliability, and sustainability.
- Improve working methods for virtual development of packaging solutions.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Strong analytical and creative skills, with the ability to translate knowledge, concepts, and ideas into effective packaging solutions.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work across different development teams and Range Areas.
- Experience in packaging construction, including drawing techniques, technical solutions, and design for manufacturing.
- Proficiency in 3D tools, preferably SolidWorks & Artios CAD.
- Knowledge of packaging requirements and global packaging test methods and standards.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of packaging and its impact on the value chain, from raw material to customer perspective.
