Blykalla is a Swedish producer of advanced small modular reactors (SMRs), aiming to provide baseload energy necessary for a full transition to a fossil-free future. As a Business Developer, you will drive growth by identifying business opportunities, forming strategic alliances, and securing project collaborations.

About the Company

Blykalla's design is based on 25+ years of research, which we are now taking to market. Our goal is to complement intermittent energy sources and enable a full transition to a fossil-free future.

This position is based in our Stockholm office and will require travel as needed to meet with clients, partners, and attend industry events. You will have the opportunity to work with industrial energy users, data centers, and energy companies to develop commercial agreements and deploy small modular reactors worldwide.

About the Job

The Business Developer will be responsible for:

  1. Business Development – Identifying and securing business opportunities through partnerships with energy companies and industrial large energy users.
  2. Financial Modelling – Ensuring the company's evolving cost estimates are tracked and translated into business models and quotes for customers.
  3. Market Intelligence & Strategy – Conducting market research to assess market development, customer needs, and competition, and translating insights into strategic recommendations.
  4. Proposal & Project Development – Collaborating with engineering teams to develop tailored business proposals, project plans, and feasibility studies on how to tailor Blykalla's solution and value proposition to key customer segments.
  5. Industry Representation & Networking – Representing Blykalla at industry events to enhance visibility and expand professional networks.
  6. Internal Strategy & Advisory – Supporting senior management with data-driven insights on market positioning, business growth, and competitive strategy.

You'll be part of a skilled, can-do team that takes responsibility, gets things done, and challenges the status quo. You act with ownership, think critically, and iterate quickly.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a talented individual who is passionate about clean energy and has a strong background in business development, consulting, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in high-tech business development, preferably in the energy sector.

Key qualifications include:

  1. A bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field. A Master-, MBA, or advanced degree is a plus.
  2. Significant experience in consultative high-tech business development; experience in the energy sector is a plus but not a requirement.
  3. Ability to deal with and shape work with a high degree of ambiguity; you prefer creating something from scratch rather than asking how things are done historically.
  4. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  5. Possess strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down and interpret complex market data into actionable insights.
  6. Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, taking initiative to get things done. Experience in a startup or scale-up is a plus.
  7. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  8. Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
