About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Financial Leader to join our team as Group Treasurer. As a key member of our financial leadership team, you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of our strategy by providing effective funding, cash, and risk management for the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Risk Management: Lead the daily management of Group financial risks, including FX risk, interest rate risk, and funding/liquidity risk through AAK's internal bank.
  2. Cash and Working Capital Management: Drive improvement in the management of working capital, cash, cash flow forecasting, borrowings, and payments across the Group, including the development of fit-for-purpose treasury processes and systems.
  3. Treasury Policy and Procedure Development: Lead the development and implementation of treasury policies and procedures in the Group.
  4. Funding Strategy: Define and implement the Group's funding strategy in line with business needs and leverage policy.
  5. Internal Capital Structure Optimization: Drive and secure an optimization of the internal capital structure.
  6. Credit Risk Management: Provide oversight and guidance on the Group's credit risk policy and customer credit risk.
  7. Bank Counterparty Management: Secure suitable and competitive bank counterparties for financing, hedging, cash management, and payment services in the Group.
  8. Industry and Regulatory Updates: Follow and be updated on external and internal developments in areas affecting Treasury's activities to initiate needed changes in AAK's Treasury, Cash, and Risk management activities.
  9. Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and support your team consisting of three experienced individuals within Group Treasury in their day-to-day work.
  10. Collaboration and Customer Focus: Be an active part of Group Financial Leadership team, demonstrate collaboration, and customer focus.
  11. International Travel: Your new role will require international traveling, with approximately 30-40 working days per year to our facilities worldwide.
About You

You are a strong team player who builds trust among people across geographies and organizations, communicates effectively, and focuses on continuous improvement. Commercial understanding, striving to make a difference, and seeing challenges as opportunities are essential qualities for this role.

Key qualifications include:

  1. +10 years' experience within Treasury, at least 3 years at director level in Group functions, in complex international companies with many subsidiaries.
  2. Experience of running an internal bank.
  3. A proven track record in managing financial operations in a global, commercial, and innovative environment.
  4. Excellent Treasury & Cash management knowledge, including derivatives, hedging, financing & investment methods, and cash management.
  5. Excellent understanding of treasury accounting and FX-effects, from a balance sheet and income statement perspective.
  6. Good general understanding of tax aspects related to international treasury management.
  7. Proficiency in financial software and systems, with a strong understanding in financial regulations and compliance.
  8. A relevant academic degree, M.Sc. in Finance or similar, and fluency in English.
