Ludvika, Dalarna, Sweden Hitachi Energy Full time
Job Overview

The opportunity to enable the green energy transition is a key aspect of this role. As part of the HVDC business unit at Hitachi Energy, you will be responsible for developing, manufacturing, and selling DC transmission systems on a global market. The developed technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and via submarine cables, enabling stability cooperation between grids and sea-based wind power.

This position offers a unique blend of high voltage (hundreds of kV) and high power (GW) topics combined with common sense. You will perform high frequency studies as well as maintain an overall plant perspective in large scale projects, all in a highly international environment.

About the Role
  • Perform studies and Finite Element simulations during tenders and project execution.
  • Implement theoretical results into reality by converting them into actual design and implementing the results from various studies into HVDC filter design.
  • Contribute to R&D activities to ensure competitiveness in the future.
  • Maintain a multidisciplinary technical environment focusing on high frequency emission and filtering using 3D models of the station.

Your Background

We are looking for a Master of Science degree in an electrical field, applied physics, power systems or similar. Experienced professionals or fresh out of university are both welcome. Although an electrical degree is required, having a keen interest in or understanding of mechanical aspects is also beneficial. Prior experience in any of the technical areas is advantageous but not necessary; personality and interest are key factors. A positive, problem-solving individual with a team-oriented attitude is desired. Being able to take responsibility and demonstrate a willingness to learn are essential. Having a general interest in technology is crucial for success in this role.
