About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to lead our Engineering & Technical team in Data Center Operations. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining critical facilities infrastructure and delivering best-in-class service to our data center customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership
    • Manage supervisors, engineers, and project/program managers to ensure effective team performance.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve team productivity, safety, and operational standards.
  • Site Capacity Management
    • Oversee site capacity management, including power utilization, customer requests, and expansion reviews.
  • Project/Infrastructure Management
    • Plan, coordinate, and implement resources to complete projects and maintenance within all data centers in Sweden.
    • Own and deliver operational and capital budgets for the sites.
    • Manage capital and engineering projects for the sites, ensuring compliance with Equinix's standards and regulations.
  • Vendor Management
    • Oversee contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, KPIs, and SLAs.
    • Lead maintenance scheduling and vendor delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
    • Manage vendor contracts, including negotiations, pricing, and quotations.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance
    • Ensure correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete.
    • Lead the transfer and adoption of new builds and building infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration.
    • Develop and review methods of procedure (MOPs), emergency operating procedures (EOPs), and other scripts as required for operation of the infrastructure.
  • Incident Management
    • Lead incident response and oversight of events with the engineering team.
    • Communicate and coordinate activities and on-site staff during an incident.
    • Assist with root cause analysis and incident resolution.
    • Establish processes, procedures, and training for personnel on incident management (critical infrastructure emergency response).
  • Financial Management
    • Lead operational and capital project budgets and forecasting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Engineering and Technical Leadership
    • Lead the critical facilities engineering team, coordinating efforts and ensuring compliance with Equinix's engineering standards.
    • Develop and review power utilization and efficiency strategies across sites, driving sustainability goals and targets.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in heavy industry or data center management, with a focus on technical/engineering teams.
  • Qualified electrical or mechanical engineer, preferably with electrical switching experience and certification.
  • Experience in managing engineering teams and associated budgets.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience managing electrical, mechanical, and associated HVAC/fire systems/cooling maintenance programs and fault response.
