Lead Consultant for Wind Energy Projects

We are seeking a Lead Consultant for Wind Energy Projects to become a vital member of our Nordics wind team within the Department for Project Development and Project Engineering, focusing primarily on the onshore wind sector in Northern Europe. You will collaborate with an international group of advisors engaged in various phases of onshore wind projects, including planning, development, construction, and operational stages. The projects you will handle encompass a range of services such as technical and commercial assessments, comprehensive reports, and consulting services related to due diligence, bankability evaluations, construction oversight, and other offerings for onshore wind turbine technologies. While your primary focus will be onshore wind, your projects may also extend to other renewable sources such as offshore wind, solar energy, and battery/storage solutions.

With a proactive and independent mindset, you exhibit strong initiative, analytical capabilities, and the ability to make sound technical and commercial decisions. You thrive in a dynamic project environment and manage a diverse array of tasks effectively. Your project management and technical expertise will be essential in the rapidly evolving field of renewable energy consulting. You will be accountable for delivering project outcomes that meet DNV's high-quality standards while maintaining ongoing client interactions and support.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Offering clients technical guidance related to the planning and development of wind farm concepts and initiatives.
  • Leading and participating in technical due diligence for wind projects, addressing and resolving technical challenges with project developers and financial stakeholders, and supporting clients through to project financial closure.
  • Managing client relationships and overseeing complex technical projects from inception to completion.
  • Engaging in business development efforts. Cultivating relationships and managing interactions with clients to advance the wind industry.
  • Leading and assisting in the preparation of project proposals.
  • Conducting site evaluations and construction monitoring, occasionally in international locations.
  • Leveraging the extensive knowledge within DNV's expert teams to fulfill client requirements.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members.

Qualifications include:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, industrial, or civil engineering).
  • Several years of experience in due diligence processes, preferably related to wind turbine projects, both onshore and offshore.
  • Familiarity with wind project development and construction.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of the wind power industry in Sweden or Finland, depending on the application location.
  • Proficiency in Swedish or Finnish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to produce clear written reports in English.
  • Willingness and capability to travel to wind farm sites, conferences, client meetings, and internal gatherings.
