Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Museum Collections Manager to join our team at the IKEA Museum. As a key member of the Archive & Collection department, you will be responsible for the care and preservation of our unique collection of artefacts. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with various cross-departmental stakeholders and contribute to the preservation of a significant cultural heritage.

Key Responsibilities
Your key areas of responsibilities will include independently assessing collection condition and contributing to preventive conservation efforts. You will lead on the care of the collection through environmental management, monitoring, and data analysis, as well as supporting Integrated Pest Management. You will set out guidance for colleagues and stakeholders on preventive conservation and collection care matters, and independently solve complex problems regarding preventive conservation. You will apply a high degree of expertise, judgement, innovation, and adaptability for the display, storage, and handling of objects.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have a recognized professional conservation qualification to degree level or equivalent. You should have experience working in the heritage sector, proficient conservation skills, and a strong understanding of mechanisms involved in material deterioration. You should also be able to devise preventive measures, have involvement in display, loans, and storage activities, and understand conservation theory. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, along with effective communication and fluency in English.
