Job Description
As a Heritage Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for independently assessing the condition of our collections and contributing to preventive conservation efforts. You will lead on the care of the collection through environmental management, monitoring, and data analysis, as well as supporting Integrated Pest Management. Your expertise will guide colleagues and stakeholders on preventive conservation and collection care matters. You will solve complex problems regarding preventive conservation, applying a high degree of expertise, judgement, innovation, and adaptability for the display, storage, and handling of objects.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have a recognized professional conservation qualification to degree level or equivalent. You should have experience working in the heritage sector, proficient conservation skills, and a strong understanding of mechanisms involved in material deterioration. You should also be able to devise preventive measures, have involvement in display, loans, and storage activities, and understand conservation theory. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, along with effective communication and fluency in English.
