About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Animation Engineer to join our team at Activision Publishing, Inc. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for improving, developing, and innovating technology and tools for our new IP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of animation technology to ensure seamless gameplay experiences.
  • Research, design, and implement new cutting-edge features to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Engage with content and engineering teams across our studios to provide expert support and co-develop new features.
  • Mentor junior Animation Programmers to ensure knowledge transfer and growth within the team.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Confident with C or C++ programming, problem-solving, debugging, and other technical skills.
  • 7+ years' experience working as a C++ programmer in the game industry or a related field.
  • Passion for advancing high-fidelity interactive animation in games.
  • Experience working directly on low-level game animation systems.
  • Good knowledge of animation topics such as inverse kinematics, blend trees, ragdolls, state machines, and secondary motion techniques.
  • Capable and eager to take a leading role on projects.

  • Familiarity with content creation tools such as Maya.
  • Experience with mentoring, hiring, or leading teams.
  • Major recognition in your field of work.
  • Experience in adjacent disciplines such as design, environment art, programming, etc.
