Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead our Data Center Operations team at Equinix, Inc. This is a critical role that requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management
    • Manage a team of supervisors, engineers, and project/program managers to ensure the smooth operation of our data centers.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance, productivity, and safety.
  • Site Capacity Management
    • Oversee site capacity management, including power utilization, customer requests, and expansion reviews.
  • Project/Infrastructure Management
    • Plan, coordinate, and implement resources to complete projects and maintenance within all data centers in Sweden.
    • Develop and manage operational and capital budgets for the sites.
    • Lead the management of capital and engineering projects for the sites.
  • Vendor Management
    • Oversee contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, KPI's, and SLA's.
    • Lead maintenance scheduling and vendor delivery.
    • Manage vendor contracts, including negotiations, pricing, and quotations.
  • Testing
    • Ensure correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete.
    • Lead the transfer and adoption of new builds and building infrastructure.
    • Develop and review methods of procedure (MOPs), emergency operating procedures (EOPs), and other scripts as required for operation of the infrastructure.
  • Incident Management
    • Lead incident response and oversight of events with the engineering team.
    • Communicate and coordinate activities and on-site staff during an incident.
    • Assist with root cause analysis and incident resolution.
    • Establish processes, procedures, and training for personnel on incident management (critical infrastructure emergency response).
  • Financial Management
    • Lead operational and capital project budgets and forecasting.
  • Engineering
    • Lead the critical facilities engineering team and coordinate with global engineering teams.
    • Develop and implement engineering standards across sites.
    • Drive sustainability goals and targets through power utilization and efficiency reviews.
Requirements
  • Proven years of experience in heavy industry or data center management, with a focus on technical/engineering teams.
  • Qualified electrical or mechanical engineer, preferably with electrical switching experience and certification.
  • Experience in managing engineering teams and associated budgets.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience managing electrical, mechanical, and associated HVAC/fire systems/cooling maintenance programs and fault response.
