About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead our engineering and technical teams in our data center operations. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing supervisors, engineers, and project/program managers to ensure the delivery of critical infrastructure across our data center sites.

Key Responsibilities

Management
  • Manage a team of supervisors, engineers, and project/program managers to deliver critical infrastructure across our data center sites.
  • Ensure teams work safely, effectively, and in accordance with operational standards and human error avoidance.
  • Manage personnel details, including salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching, and development.
Site Capacity Management
  • Oversee site capacity management, including power utilization, customer requests, and expansion reviews.
Project/Infrastructure Management
  • Plan, coordinate, review budgets, and implement resources to complete projects and maintenance within all data centers in Sweden.
  • Own and deliver operational and capital budgets for the sites.
  • Manage capital and engineering projects for the sites.
Vendor Management
  • Oversee contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, KPIs, and SLAs.
  • Lead maintenance scheduling and vendor delivery.
  • Manage vendor contracts, including negotiations, pricing/quotations.
Testing
  • Ensure correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete.
  • Lead the transfer and adoption of new builds and building infrastructure.
  • Review and develop methods of procedure (MOPs), emergency operating procedures (EOPs), and other scripts as required for operation of the infrastructure.
Incident Management
  • Lead incident response and oversight of events with the engineering team.
  • Communicate and coordinate activities and on-site staff during an incident.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and incident resolution.
  • Establish processes, procedures, and training for personnel on incident management (critical infrastructure emergency response).
Financial Management
  • Lead operational and capital project budgets and forecasting.
Engineering
  • Lead the critical facilities engineering team and coordinate activities.
  • Responsible for engineering standards delivery across sites, engaging with global engineering teams and communicating across local teams.
  • Develop and lead reviews of power utilization and efficiency across sites, driving sustainability goals and targets.

Requirements

  • Proven years of heavy industry or data center experience managing technical/engineering teams.
  • Qualified electrical or mechanical engineer, preferable with electrical switching experience and certification.
  • Experience in managing engineering teams and associated budgets.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience managing electrical, mechanical, and associated HVAC/fire systems/cooling maintenance programs and fault response.
