Nordic Policy Strategist

Meta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Policy Manager to join our team in the Nordic countries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and driving thoughtful discussions on tech policies across the Nordic region. They will work closely with the Public Policy team to manage key policy initiatives and campaigns, as well as provide general support to the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and research current emerging public policy issues in the Nordic region.
  • Develop and implement strategies to build new events and initiatives focused on all Nordic countries.
  • Engage with policymakers, trade associations, industry partners, and other stakeholders to contribute to the development of policy frameworks that promote private, safe, and responsible innovation.
  • Collaborate with Product, Legal, Communications, Corporate, and Partnership teams, as well as global policy teams to drive consistency in approach to Facebook's policy initiatives across the Nordic countries.
  • Set up and manage policy initiatives across the region in cooperation with the rest of the policy team and colleagues from other teams.
  • Participate in strategy work for building relationships with policymakers, civil society, and academics in the Nordics.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with key organizations in the Nordics.
  • Ensure consistency in approach to policy initiatives across the Nordic countries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with policymakers, stakeholders, and civil servants, and an overall interest in tech policy.
  2. Clear understanding of the policy challenges Meta is facing, and ambitious and relevant ideas about how to solve these.
  3. Keen interest in politics and effective communication skills with stakeholders.
  4. Comfortable managing multiple fast-moving projects simultaneously.
  5. Background in societal questions such as Political Science, Humanities, or related fields.
  6. Knowledge of global policy issues, technology, politics, and government.
  7. Experience working with political systems and institutions.
  8. Analytical approach to policy issues, with experience working cross-functionally.
  9. Experience driving and managing multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously and smoothly.
  10. Passion for tech, Meta, and its mission to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.
  11. Experience working autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  12. Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully and creatively while owning the project from ideation to execution.
  13. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  14. Willingness to travel.
  15. Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language required (additional languages are a plus).
