NPI Project Engineer to ABB Process Automation: Drive Innovation and Efficiency

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team within the Process Control Platform (PCP) at ABB Schweiz AG. As an Industrial Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and performance of our hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution: Prepare NPI project plans, identify resources requirements, and evaluate financials for PCB & PCBA NPI projects.
- Product Development and Implementation: Drive the implementation of new products and engineering changes at EMS, including FAI (First Article Inspection), to ensure effective execution of projects according to required procedures and timelines.
- Design Transition and Process Improvement: Work with design engineers to transition design prototypes into cost-efficient products, analyze and recommend improvements to production processes and methods to facilitate cost reduction and quality improvement.
- Technical Support and Supplier Management: Act as technical support during supplier selection and supplier audits, and manage product transfers between EMS suppliers.
- Travel and Support: Willing to travel to EMS and PCB factories to support qualification and conduct analysis of field returns to provide support to R&D.
- Education and Experience: Master or bachelor's degree in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering discipline with minimum 3 years of experience, ideally as PCBA Process Engineer.
- Manufacturing Process Knowledge: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (SMT, THT, Conformal Coating) and box building ideally from working at an EMS.
- Electronics and Manufacturing Expertise: Experience in power, digital, and mixed technology electronics, and knowledge in New Product Introduction and Product Life Cycle Management process.
- Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Superior problem-solving skills, project management and facilitation skills, and outstanding communication skills in English, both written and oral.
