About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Innovation Scouting. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of innovation and technology at ABB.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scout and mentor innovative startups from around the world, supporting their growth within our global ecosystem.
  • Guide our corporate partners on strategic roadmaps by staying ahead of technology trends, performing competitive landscape analyses, and monitoring the global startups scene.
  • Develop and implement scalable frameworks, processes, and tools that enhance the efficiency of our ecosystem.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), refine processes for quality and scalability, and organize webinars for startups, global employees, and partners.
  • Plan and execute new initiatives to foster collaboration between startups, ABB, and our close partners, ensuring startup offerings are integrated into strategic technology roadmaps.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to startups and individuals to help them understand and navigate our global ecosystem.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for startups to boost productivity and expand their portfolios.
Requirements
  • Technical and Business Expertise: Strong expertise in both technology and business, with an MSc expected, and advanced degrees such as a PhD and an MBA advantageous.
  • Business Growth: Proven track record in scaling new businesses and driving growth.
  • Sales Experience: Sales experience, including direct customer interactions from scanning the market, selecting prospects, to eventually converting prospects into partners/customers.
  • Leadership: Previous leadership or management experience is preferred.
  • International Experience: Experience working in an international setup, ideally with a background in both startups (preferably as an entrepreneur) and global corporations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in complex, cross-functional, and multicultural teams with sometimes diverging stakeholder expectations.
  • Target Oriented and Strong Inner Driver: Demonstrates a strong focus on achieving goals and meeting targets, exhibits a well-organized and methodical approach to tasks and projects, and possesses a powerful internal motivation and commitment to succeed and excel.
