Job Description

Payment Solutions Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Persistent and Caching Architect to join our Direct Payments team in Stockholm. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a crucial role in shaping WBD's state-of-the-art Payments Platform.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing functional changes to existing software systems, requiring minimal guidance from team members but actively seeking input where necessary.
  • Collaborating with other engineers to assist with features or take the lead on feature design, ensuring your software contributions are demonstrated to work in production.
  • Describing and defending your design and code decisions to other engineers, embracing constructive feedback, and adapting your approach to align with team and company standards and objectives.
  • Implementing best practices and documenting improvements for others, enhancing overall operational excellence.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 7 years of industry experience, preferably in payment domains.
  • Proficiency in Java and additional programming languages.
  • Familiarity with persistence and caching solutions, including PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, and Caffeine.
  • Experience with micro-service-based architectures using gRPC and Kafka for interservice communication.
  • A deep understanding of asynchronous, non-blocking, functional programming styles and frameworks such as Spring WebFlux, Node.js, and vert.x.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
  • Experience implementing alerting, metrics, and logging using Prometheus, CloudWatch, Kibana, and PagerDuty.
