Advancing In-Flight Instruction Handling

The Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University seeks a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team. We are looking for an individual with expertise in computational architectures and experience with machine learning.
This project aims to develop new approaches to processor branch prediction by combining different types of contextual information. The goal is to create a more sophisticated 'meta-context' that allows us to recognize patterns from the combined context information, leading to better predictions.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be working closely with our research group to investigate the underlying potential of this approach and design a practical implementation. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with industrial and academic researchers across the world.
We offer a temporary position of three years according to central collective agreement. Full time position. Starting date 1 September 2025 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
- You will be responsible for conducting research, publishing papers, advising PhD students, and possibly teaching in computer architecture.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential for ensuring a constructive and collaborative work environment.
- Candidates with experience in training/optimizing/interpreting attention mechanisms in neural networks are strongly encouraged to apply.
