Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our research group focused on rare skeletal diseases. Our team uses cutting-edge methodologies, including whole-genome sequencing and RNA-sequencing, to identify disease-causing gene defects.

The successful candidate will work closely with molecular biologists, physicians, and bioinformaticians to actively participate in national and international collaborative research projects.

  • We aim to recruit a postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in clinical genetics and bioinformatics.
  • The project focuses on identifying new genetic causes for skeletal disorders with osteoporosis and abnormal mineral homeostasis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have a PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a Swedish PhD. Prior experience with a variety of genetic methods, such as exome and whole-genome sequencing data analysis, Sanger sequencing, and transcriptome analysis, is advantageous.

You should also have familiarity with high-performance computing environments, Linux, Python, R scripting, or other programming languages. Experience with variant interpretation and classification using the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) guidelines would be beneficial.
