
Research Scientist in Rare Skeletal Diseases

The Clinical Genetics Research Group at Karolinska Institutet is seeking a talented Research Scientist to contribute to our project focused on identifying genetic causes of rare skeletal disorders. As a Research Scientist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing cutting-edge genetic methodologies to identify disease-causing gene defects.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, interpreting results, and collaborating with colleagues to advance the understanding of rare skeletal diseases. You will also have the opportunity to participate in national and international collaborative research projects and present your findings at scientific conferences.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong research background in clinical genetics, bioinformatics, or a related field, with expertise in exome and whole-genome sequencing data analysis, Sanger sequencing, and transcriptome analysis. Familiarity with high-performance computing environments, Linux, Python, R scripting, or other programming languages is essential.
