Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Genetics Research Specialist to join our team at Karolinska Institutet. As a key member of our research group, you will contribute to advancing the understanding of rare skeletal diseases and develop cutting-edge genetic methodologies to identify disease-causing gene defects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong research background in clinical genetics, bioinformatics, or a related field, with expertise in exome and whole-genome sequencing data analysis, Sanger sequencing, and transcriptome analysis. Familiarity with high-performance computing environments, Linux, Python, R scripting, or other programming languages is essential.

You will work closely with molecular biologists, physicians, and bioinformaticians to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results. Previous experience with variant interpretation and classification using the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) guidelines would be advantageous.
