Job Title: Photoreceptor SpecialistKarolinska Institutet seeks a skilled Photoreceptor Specialist to join our team. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work on establishing a method for differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into photoreceptors. This involves culturing and differentiating pluripotent stem cells, cell isolation, genetic analysis, and microscopy.
About the Position:
You will be responsible for developing an efficient method to produce photoreceptors from pluripotent stem cells and testing them in preclinical animal models. Your expertise in stem cell differentiation and photoreceptor production will be crucial in advancing this project.
Your Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimize methods for differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into photoreceptors
* Conduct genetic analysis and microscopy to assess photoreceptor development and functionality
* Collaborate with Professor Anders Kvanta and Dr. Filippo Locri to test produced photoreceptors in animal models
* Refine the method to make it clinically compatible for future clinical trials
Requirements:
* PhD or foreign degree equivalent to a Swedish PhD
* Experience in differentiation of pluripotent stem cells
* Strong background in retinal developmental biology or production of retinal cell types
* Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate
