About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our High-Voltage (HV) Physics team at Hitachi Energy, a leading provider of electrical infrastructure solutions. As a Research Scientist, you will play a key role in developing next-generation HV systems and products, leveraging cutting-edge simulation tools and lab equipment.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the development of HV insulation technologies for future HV devices and systems, ensuring integration into green power systems.
- Analyze new environmental friendly insulation materials, understanding their long-term behavior and critical properties, and effectively communicate with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and external partners.
- Lead R&D projects with global research community participants, participating in experimental work or planning in electrical insulation laboratories and carrying out advanced data analysis.
- Connect expertise in material science with HV physics and other technical areas, working in cross-competence teams to solve research challenges for future energy systems.
- Contribute to creating ideas and proposals for new R&D projects with colleagues, documenting results in technical reports, presentations, and IP.
- Embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions and caring about colleagues and the business.
Your Background
- You hold a background in physical chemistry, material science, or a similar field, with a PhD or an MSc combined with relevant working experience.
- You have the ability and interest to work as a technical project leader, coordinating the activities of colleagues globally.
- You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with others to achieve great results.
- Relevant working experience with electrical insulation materials and/or high-voltage apparatus or equipment is a bonus.
- You possess good communication skills and are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
