With a workforce of 74,000 professionals, we are committed to advancing greener and smarter mobility globally, connecting cities while minimizing carbon footprints and reducing reliance on automobiles.
Are you ready to take on the role of Traction Module Engineer?
Your future responsibilities
Embrace a new challenge and leverage your technical skills in an innovative environment. Reporting to the Traction Sub-systems Manager, you will collaborate with a team of motivated specialists.
As a Traction Module Engineer, you will engage with cross-site teams and collaborate with various engineering communities within Alstom, contributing to development and delivery projects.
Your primary focus will be on our power module solutions, particularly on gate drive units (GDU's) and insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBT's), along with related applications and functions associated with different converter modules such as MCM (Motor Converter Module), LCM (Line Converter Module), and ACM (Auxiliary Converter Module).
Key expectations from you:
Assist in creating the technical documentation for the power module. Evaluate electrical constraints concerning all components (IGBT, diode, capacitors, resistors, transducers, gate drive) of the power module and prepare design reports. Develop technical requirement specifications for the electrical components of the power module. Facilitate technical discussions with various stakeholders within the engineering team. Participate in and execute the qualification process for the power module. Ensure coherence and compatibility among all functions of the power module. Collaborate with the power module team to define the validation strategy for the power module. Verify that the structural and functional configuration of the power module meets all requirements. Analyze technical challenges and propose solutions.About you
We prioritize enthusiasm and attitude over extensive experience. While we do not expect you to possess every skill, we have identified several that will contribute to your success and growth in this position:
A relevant academic background, such as a Master's Degree in (high voltage power) Electronics or a related field. Familiarity with VHDL (very high description language) and electronic design is advantageous. Experience in industrial electronics and the capability to implement minor hardware design modifications when necessary. Knowledge of working in a high voltage (HV) lab, including test environment development and measurement equipment, such as LabView. Comprehensive experience in electronic device testing, including knowledge of both analog and digital design solutions. Understanding of insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBT's) and their control/driving mechanisms is beneficial. What you can expect
Join us on a transformative journey in the rail industry, where opportunities for growth and skill development are abundant throughout your career. You will also:
Experience stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous routines. Collaborate with diverse teams and supportive colleagues. Contribute to groundbreaking projects. Enjoy a hybrid working environment. Direct your career path across various functions and countries. Benefit from our commitment to your development through award-winning training programs. Receive a fair and dynamic compensation package that recognizes your performance and potential, along with comprehensive social benefits (life, medical, pension). You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We assure you that when you experience our trains with your friends or family, you will feel a sense of pride. If you are ready for this challenge, we look forward to hearing from you.
