About the ProjectThis PhD project aims to leverage the latest advancements in AI/ML to address critical challenges in optical network design and operation. The research will focus on developing and integrating cutting-edge AI/ML techniques to optimize optical network performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Formulate research questions and develop strategies to solve them within the scope of the project.
- Develop new AI/ML approaches for optimizing optical network design and operation, and integrate them into proof-of-concept demonstrators.
- Collaborate with other researchers and external experts from academia and industry to advance the project.
- Communicate research results through high-impact journals and conferences.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in networks, communication systems, and machine learning, with excellent grades in core courses.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Programming experience in Matlab, Python, Julia, or similar.
- Ability to develop simulation tools to assess performance.
