About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Equipment Specialist to join our team at Amazon Data Services Sweden AB. As a Mechanical Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall operation and maintenance of all cooling and associated mechanical/electrical/controls equipment within our nominated Datacenters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Plan, coordinate, manage, and conduct preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure high reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of faults, plan, and deliver reactive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Spares and Parts Management: Identify, purchase, and store spares and parts required for planned and reactive works.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Mentor and guide on-site Engineering Operations Technicians unfamiliar with the equipment for immediate on-site reaction during an event.
  • Contractor Supervision: Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
  • Maintenance Tasks: Perform maintenance tasks, including filter changes, tank inspections, legionella testing, and pump maintenance.
  • Trouble-Shooting: Perform first-level trouble-shooting to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Risk Assessments and Method Statements: Develop and implement risk assessments and method statements for works.
  • Travel and On-Call: Travel between Data Center sites and work on-call or out of hours when required.
  • Operational Readings and Reporting: Take daily operational readings and provide to Senior Engineers for metrics reporting.
  • EAM Management: Input and manage EAM for assigned assets.
  • Maintenance Reports and Planners: Update maintenance reports and planners.
  • Basic Support Concepts: Perform basic support concepts, such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant work experience within the mechanical equipment field (pumps, engines, cooling systems, etc.).
  • Travel: Ability to travel between all nominated sites on a daily or weekly basis.
  • EU Driver's License: Possession of a valid EU driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cooling Systems Experience: Particular experience in cooling systems (AHUs, CRAHUs, HVAC systems, Generators, Pumps, industrial water systems) is advantageous.
  • Troubleshooting and Understanding: Demonstrated capability in understanding and troubleshooting of cooling equipment and fundamentals.
  • Training or Certification: Training or certification in cooling systems is a strong benefit.
