Broadband Data Mediation Team is part of Telia Group IT Organization. This team is the IT solution owner for collection, mediation, and processing of the data from IP transport and access network, mobile core, and various fixed data services. These data are critical for Telia’s business and used for service assurance, network automation, crowd analytics, security monitoring, business customer portal product offering, etc.

Our Broadband Big Data agile team is the IT solution partner for the business to ensure the development and maintenance of IP network performance data productions. Our solution is part of Telia’s network services like L2VPN, Datanet, Cloud Connect, IP Peering, IP Core and Metro, 5G Mobile Core network, Enterprise Mobile Network, Cloud Data Center Networks and it built on Cloud Native Infrastructure. The scope of the team is from the collection layer, where we are using SNMPv2 and v3, as well as other methods such as Streaming Telemetry, to the presentation layer, both for Internal and External users. The combination of our work is unique and interesting since it covers both development and telecommunications.

The team is also responsible for the network performance application built on top. AI/ML is important part of the applications in this domain. The typical use cases for AI/ML is anomaly detection, network automation, root cause analysis, language based network performance query, etc. You will thereby also work with ML data pipeline development and maintenance for these applications. The pipelining tools we are currently use are Apache Kafka, Cloud functions, Dataflow and Big Query. And to continue the development Phyton and Terraform knowledge is key. The day-to-day team collaboration is on Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, and Slack.

The team consists of DevOps Engineers, SRE, architect, software engineers as well as scrum master and product owner. You will contribute to solutions that are used by stakeholders from all six countries where Telia operates.

The work duties consist of but are not limited to:

  • Development and maintaining data collecting and dashboard creation.
  • Communicating with IP network device expert on protocols, data dimensions, and metrics definitions.
  • Development, upgrading, and maintaining ML data pipelines and ML lifecycles management.
  • Leaving the codebase in a better state than you found it.

Is this you?

You are experienced with:

  • Apache Kafka and Elastic Search.
  • Grafana or similar visualization tool.
  • Python programing for Data Engineering.
  • Big Query and Terraform deployment.
  • ML model production delivery and operations.
