The Utility business unit at Svea Solar is responsible for utility-scale (i.e., very large) projects. We excel at the full-cycle process of developing, constructing, and managing solar energy projects that power the future.

To ensure our projects' financial health and success, we are looking for a rigorous and commercially driven Business Controller to join the team.

The team

You will be a part of the Utility business unit that develops and invests in large scale solar parks, provides EPC services by building and operating solar parks across Sweden.

You will work closely with project managers, procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are financially sound and risks are well-managed. In collaboration with the Group Finance functions, the role plays an active part in the overall FP&A processes of Svea Solar. You will be reporting to the Utility CFO.

You and I will work closely together in controlling all aspects of the Utility business. I will lead your onboarding and initially take overall responsibility, but over time, we will work in parallel and have the opportunity to shape the distribution of tasks together.   1. Implement cost controls to ensure individual solar parks stay within budget.
  2. Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, profitability metrics, and financial plans to ensure short-term and long-term financial stability on a P&L and cash flow basis.
  3. Convert project data into P&L statements and report deviations.
  4. Coach and support project leaders in creating and following up on project finances and commercial aspects.
  5. Perform regular liquidity forecasting and perform financial analysis to identify variances between budgeted and actual expenditures.
Are we a match?

We believe that these experiences and qualities will help you have a great start with the role:

  1. Several years of experience in business controlling or project controlling.
  2. Relevant educational background in Finance, Engineering or BA.
  3. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, financial analysis, and data analysis.
  4. Advanced Excel skills and other tools for analysis.
  5. A detail-oriented and rigorous approach to work.
  6. Strong analytical skills for thorough and granular analysis.
  7. The ability to partner with stakeholders to understand problems and find solutions.
  8. Experience in the construction or energy field is a plus.
  9. Proficient in business communication in English.
