ECARX was founded in 2017 and has grown to almost 2,000 team members. The co-founders are two automotive entrepreneurs, Chairman and CEO Ziyu Shen, and Eric Li (Li Shufu), who is also the founder and chairman of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group - one of the largest automotive groups in the world, with ownership interests in international brand OEMs including Lotus, Lynk & Co, Polestar, smart and Volvo Cars.

Position Overview:

As the SRE Tech Lead within our Gothenburg team, you will work within the team of Site Reliability Engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, tools, and processes necessary to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-based automotive systems leveraging AWS technologies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and implement best practices in cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  2. Develop and implement best practices, standards, and procedures for monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, and performance optimization using AWS services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.
  3. Drive automation and orchestration efforts using AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and AWS Lambda to streamline deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources and applications.
  4. Collaborate with software engineering teams to design and implement reliable, resilient, and fault-tolerant architectures for cloud-based applications and services on AWS.
  5. Proactively identify potential issues and performance bottlenecks, and implement preventative measures using AWS Auto Scaling, AWS Trusted Advisor, and AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  6. Lead incident response and post-mortem processes to analyze root causes, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions leveraging AWS CloudWatch Logs and AWS X-Ray.
  7. Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement in AWS technologies.
  8. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AWS cloud operations, and recommend adoption where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud computing platform services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS, DynamoDB).
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and experience with AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and distributed systems concepts in AWS environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, AWS X-Ray, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
