We're seeking a dynamic leader for the Head of Technology role. You will manage our engineering and data platform teams while leading the development and vision of Happy Socks' overall technology platform. This position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a deep passion for building and managing scalable technology platforms. You will lead by example and work with our tech stack, which includes ERP backend systems, AWS/Azure connected services, retailer marketplace integrations, a core e-commerce platform, a headless commerce microservice architecture with a Nuxt frontend and AWS function, and a built data lakehouse platform on Snowflake, along with ETLl and self-service BI tools. This is a great opportunity to shape the technological direction of a global brand like Happy Socks.

Our vibrant 'Happy Crew' consists of 150 colourful and creative characters from all over the world (25+ nationalities, and counting). You will be based at our Stockholm office, where our tech team is located.

Task & responsibilities (including, but not limited to)

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the vision and strategy for our technology stack and implement appropriate technologies to support the scalability, security and performance of our infrastructure and architecture
  • Evaluates the need for any new systems and lead retailer integrations, including but not limited to the selection of technology vendors for B2B and e-commerce integrations. Prior experience with retail ERP platforms and B2B retailer marketplaces is a big plus
  • Own the roadmap of platform engineering activities and projects such as GDPR compliance, data access rules, scheduled penetration tests, setting SLAs for BCP (Business continuity), ACLs, Active Directory setup etc by working with internal development team and external consultants as necessary
  • Contribute and coach the team on coding best practices, participate in code reviews and architecture decisions as required

Team Management & Agile Project Management

  • Mentor, and lead a close-knit engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and a startup mindset, where each team member contributes to both strategic discussions and hands-on development
  • Lead the engineering team in an agile development environment, grooming the high level tech roadmap priorities and owning the business stakeholder relationships

Product Leadership

  • Oversee the end-to-end website architecture and technology for our e-commerce platform, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience for our D2C consumers
  • Create, own and execute the roadmap for conversion rate optimization initiatives for the e-commerce platform and Aaro improvements that lead to higher revenues
  • Implement strategies for A/B testing and user feedback loops to optimize the platform including improving our instrumentation and tracking capability, including improving the instrumentation and tracking capability

Collaboration

  • Coordinate the development of ERP (Business Central) upgrade and improvement projects and interacting support systems (including but not limited to product systems (PLM and PIM), B2B-portal, global POS etc). This also includes development and maintenance of the integration and interfaces between Happy Socks and external partners
  • Coordinate the development of new foundational data assets and low-code integrations with retail marketplaces and vendors to support the data analytics roadmap and business reporting priorities

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with leadership experience in a retail environment. You're familiar with retail technologies such as e-commerce platforms, ERP, EDI and retailer systems integration, ideally in a fast paced setting. You possess strong agile project management skills with a solid understanding of cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, GCP. You're up-to-date with retail technology trends and can align technical solutions with market needs. You also have insights on leveraging generative AI to drive business growth. Your excellent communication skills enable you to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
