We are on the lookout for a talented and passionate Development Engineer specializing in electric systems to become part of our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will boast a strong background in electrical engineering and a drive for crafting innovative electric solutions. This role centers around the design, development, and testing of electric components and systems to cater to the evolving needs of our clients.

The chosen candidate will take charge of tasks related to system and component development within the CB division. This development work is intricately linked to customer requirements, regulations, internal standards, and aligned with our business strategies.

Main responsibilities and duties:

  • Leading assigned projects involving partners, consultants, and suppliers
  • Developing components and systems to ensure compliance with technical customer specifications, product safety, legal standards, and internal requirements
  • Collaborating with PSE and Chief Engineers to define specifications for components and systems
  • Coordinating the design of components and systems across products in consultation with PSE
  • Ensuring seamless collaboration between team functions, Sourcing, and Operations
  • Regularly reporting outcomes and potential deviations to the Line Manager
  • Defining test plans, procuring components, conducting evaluations, and post-need identification
  • Conducting customer and supplier visits in coordination with the responsible Line Manager and PSE

Key requirements for success:

Education:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge gained through experience

Experience:

  • Profound technical expertise in non-road mobile machinery or similar rubber-tire vehicles
  • Previous involvement in product development within mechanical engineering
  • Experience in similar roles will be advantageous
  • Familiarity with other Kalmar products is a plus

  • Proficient in engineering design tools used by Kalmar
  • Strong analytical and structural abilities

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
