The Job:
The Finance Controller is a crucial role responsible for ensuring the financial integrity and performance of the BMI Sweden entity. You will be responsible for the financial integrity of the BMI Sweden legal entities and you report to the Finance Director Sweden to ensure BMI Sweden's financial priorities are met.
The role will be responsible for providing financial insights and recommendations to Sweden Leadership Team and Senior Management and ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
We believe you are based at our Swedish headquarters in Malmö.
Your Main Tasks:
The role works closely with the FD Sweden, Country MD, Nordic Finance Director, Central finance, and GBS to lead end-to-end finance processes.
Steering the finance functions through a period of rapid change ensuring it’s robust and efficient. Ensure efficient and effective delivery of the processes with robust control and compliance mechanisms .
Responsibility for the delivery of financial accounting and controls, statutory reporting, technical accounting expertise and efficient financial operations.
Oversee all company accounts.
Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
Reducing the period close efforts and other task efficiencies.
Report timely and accurate financial information, analysis, insights and present these to senior stakeholders.
The point of contact for all technical accounting queries, auditors, tax advisors and relevant authorities.
Adopt BMI Core process & technology standards and ensure proactive engagement in Finance Governance
Oversee audits, including liaising with auditors and ensuring audit recommendations are addressed.
Foster collaboration with and drive reporting to BMI’s shareholders
Manage and oversee the preparation of the company’s financial statements to ensure they are accurate and timely
Your Experience:
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably also having a professional financial qualification related to chartered accounting; accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA)
Superior understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, and even IFRS accounting principles .
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Demonstrated strong business acumen and understanding of financial principles.
Proficiency in Excel or Sheet, particularly with handling large datasets.
Ideally having experience in working with SAP / S4 Hana and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
Solid experience from stakeholder management in an international/Nordic environment.
Proactive personality with a drive for continuous improvement and innovation.
You are fluent in Swedish, and have very good skills in English.
