Central Accounting Manager

We are looking for a Central Accounting Manager to Ikano Bank’s headquarters in Malmö.

You will be part of the Finance Team, reporting to the Head of Finance. As Central Accounting Manager you will lead and manage the accounting teams in Ikano Bank’s markets (Nordics, Germany, UK and Poland) and be responsible for the accounting for Ikano Bank as a legal entity.

The Accounting Teams that you will be leading, are responsible for the monthly closing of books and for the accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting in the bank and its branches. The clear mission is to secure financial compliance in the monthly and yearly reporting.

As a Central Accounting Manager, you lead, coach and develop our employees in accordance with Ikano Bank's values and ensure that the work of the department evolves forward and works as efficiently as possible. Accounting teams work closely with other Finance functions such as Finance Administration, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Tax and Business Control. Accounting function is also an important stakeholder in the development of technical solutions and provides support in regulatory matters.

Areas of responsibility will include:

• Ensure that accurate and timely consolidated accounting and financial reporting for the bank is provided by the accounting teams
• Ensure all financial reporting is consistent with the accounting and regulatory requirements
• Ensure high quality of accounting when it comes to compliance with IFRS and the bank’s policies, instructions, and directives.
• Lead and support the accounting teams in order to ensure compliant / accurate reporting, strong internal controls and harmonized and efficient processes.
• Provide leadership in reporting processes, ensure robustness and scalability
• Set monthly closing routines and time plans together with the teams and communicate those to relevant stakeholders
• Lead monthly closing process and secure reconciliation of general accounts and that appropriate closure booking are made
• Contribute to the preparation of all monthly and annual legal reporting
• Ensure that documentation of transactions/audit trail are in place and accessible
• Own accounting principles, chart of accounts and ensure that sufficient and efficient accounting systems and processes are in place
• Secure that all documentation is valid and in place for an efficient audit process
• Coordinate the statutory audit and other audits initiated by external and internal auditors
• Manage together with the accounting teams all intergroup charges and reconciliations, including associated regulatory issues (VAT, transfer pricing etc)
• Participate in projects related to accounting and finance and be a speaking partner on regulatory matters and accounting requirements

We believe that you are a people driven manager with proven track record of creating a caring culture and leading and developing high performing teams. You can easily build strong relationships and reflect on people’s behavior. To be successful in this role, we believe that you have master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or economics and experience of leading an accounting department in a large international company.

It is important that you are driven by working independently given high responsibility and freedom to act, that’s easy for you to prioritize and that you have collaborative mindset.

Good knowledge of IFRS and the interpretation of the accounting rules and principles, preferable experience from the regulated financial industry.

As this role will support our teams globally, we expect you to be fluent in English, written and verbal.
